About Us - Our Efforts
Current organizational goals being considered:

1) Help address need for mental health services and staff training at child care centers.

2) Develop a stronger mentoring component of new DAYC Gov board officers and chairpersons.

3) Develop and maintain an E-newsletter (Kiteline online) to update membership regularly on calendar of events and ideas

4) Develop a means for a central file of all DAYC organizational documentation (annual retreat goals, minutes, IRS etc)...something that maintains the history of the organizational workings and allows all governing board members access freely.

5) Develop programming (membership meetings) so that we have consistent and regular opportunities for membership to meet.

6) Acquire funding for local research that focuses on gaps in services for young children.

7) Develop programming and coordination with early childhood professionals in counties surrounding Montgomery County.

8) Develop increased collaboration with local organizations and legislators regarding children's programs and issues.

DAYC accomplishments:

1) Successful Fall conferences
2) Scholarships for students in ECE track
3) Won membership grant to pay for twenty new members
4) Steady maintaining of membership numbers
5) Successful collaboration with OAEYC
6) Providing public awards for exceptional services for young children
7) Development of Dayton's Young Children, a unique peer-review publication
8) The development and maintenance of a website
9) Collaboration with the Phoenix project to provide mentorship and accreditation fees for local child care centers
