2010 - 2011 school year

DAYC offers scholarships for persons studying Early Childhood Education.

The DAYC Scholarship is available to students pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in ECE (or it's equivalent) for the amount of $500.00 for one school year. Applications are considered on the basis of academic achievement, a minimum of 30 credit hours completed, a minimum GPA of 3.0, extracurricular involvement (particularly in the field of ECE), and confidential references and recommendations. Financial need is not a criterion for either scholarship. Scholarship applications may be obtained at the following schools: UD, WSU, OSU, Ohio U., and University of Cincinnati.

The Clara McGlone Scholarship was established in 1983 to recognize Dr. Clara McGlone for professionalism in ECE, community service, and dedication to Sinclair College and the Child and Family Education Office at Sinclair. The requirements are the same as for the DAYC Scholarship except that a minimum of 18 credit hours is required of applicants. Clara McGlone Scholarship applications are available from the Sinclair Community College Financial Aid Office.

Lynda A. Cohen Professional Development Scholarship – October 2010

In honor of our beloved colleague, Past President of DAYC, and Lifetime member of NAEYC, this scholarship was established in October 2010. Lynda A. Cohen was the epitome of an early childhood professional, generously giving of her time and talents to support her colleagues and our community for over 40 years. Her memory lives on with the establishment of this scholarship in support of a new NAEYC/DAYC member and early childhood professional.
